What does one say when one sits down
to write a few lines on paper to describe who they are. It can be the
usual, I am 5'3", blue eyes, 61 years of age, happily married for 43
years, one daughter, and two grandchildren.
that does not really describe the true person, for we are each a sum total
of more than that... We are all much like a treasured quilt, made of many
pieces. Pieces of the past and pieces of the present.
is difficult to tell another person about yourself. It is so much
easier to let those that you come into contact with learn to know you by
your actions along with the words that you speak. I see this as one of
the greatest drawbacks of the computer age. I feel it is so important
to spend time with one another (in person) when we can. There is
nothing in this world that is more important than interaction between
was born in a small town in NW Missouri and lived there, in Wyoming, and a
short time in Illinois. We never stayed any one place for very long
and it was difficult to have friends moving the way we did. At age 9
or 10 we moved to NE Oklahoma. Please forgive me that I do not name
towns, in this day and age of Identity Theft I do not feel safe
giving a lot of personal information.
age 12, I gave my life to Christ and oh what blessings I have had over the
years. Even in times of hardship, the Lord is always there with me to
guide and comfort me. I feel that the wonderful husband that I have
had for the past 42 years was and is of Gods doing. Very few 18 year
old girls really know how to pick a lifetime mate, and I was no
exception. After marrying my husband Jacques, he took me to
Switzerland to live for a couple of years and then we returned to
central Oklahoma. We have resided in the same town in central
Oklahoma for the last 41 years.
came from two wonderful loving caring parents. They tried to give me
the things that I needed in life, and not give too much. They taught
me that knowing God is important and he should be first in my life, then my
husband, and finally my children and friends. They also taught me to
appreciate all that is around me, as there is good in most things if we but
look for it!
I was a young Christian I can remember thinking that I couldn't put God
first. Something else always seemed to need attention first, however,
over the years I have learned that I accomplish a lot more if I just take
the time to study, talk to God and let God talk to me!
my parents and the Bible I learned the principal of love and how important
it is in life. Not just our family love, but the love for those around
us, especially the people that are hard to love. And with that love we
must forgive those that will hurt us and do wrong to us.
am an avid believer that our actions are often the words that people hear
(not necessarily the spoken word), and because of that I try to be a good
role model for those around me as I do not want to be a stumbling block for
am married to a man that is the eternal optimist. When we first
married I can remember thinking that he was always so positive, and couldn't
see the negative side of things. I have since learned that he sees
them but chooses to live his life as positive as he can!
have one daughter, Tania; two grandchildren, Arielle, our 17 year old
granddaughter; and Dakota, our 18 year old grandson. These three
beautiful people are very special to Jacques and I, and they all three know
this not just by us telling them, but by the way that we show them with our
actions. If you would like to see pictures of my family please click
remember when I was young that I wanted to have several children, and was
sad for many years due to my inability to have more children. I prayed
that God would allow me to have more, and low and behold I have the two
beautiful grandchildren, which for a while lived with us. So I guess
that God in his infinite wisdom knew what he was doing when I was praying
for more children.
will find as you go through this website that there will be a lot of pages
that are scripture oriented, lots of floral pages, and who knows what of my
other likes you will find here. I love to read my Bible and other
literature, listen to music, work in the flower garden, design web pages,
talk online, quilt, crochet, knit, tat, paint, and the list goes on...
this the middle of my life (smile, yes I am 61, I have determined that my
remaining days will be spent feeling and spreading as much joy of the Lord
as possible. The world is full of woe, hurt and anger. If we
would each try to add some joy to it, think what a wonderful world it could
I am the sum total not just of what I think I am, but parts of the past,
present, and future. Hopefully learning and growing to be a more
loving and caring, and giving person.
feel very fortunate to have had all of the people in my life that have made
my life richer and more blessed, especially in those times of darkness that
we must all go through. I wish to thank all those people (to many to
name here) for always being there to give support, guidance, and sometimes
just holding my hand.
we live our lives is very important and I have a few scriptures that I think
are very important for everyone to know and remember:
so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes
in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn it, but to save it"
3:16 and 17
now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as
I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one
another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
all of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving
one another with tender hearts and humble minds. Don't repay evil for
evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you.
Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to
do, and he will bless you for it.
Peter 3:8 and 9
