"Sweet Gentle Love"

What Color is Love

She asked her father, "what color is love,"

For so long I've wanted to know,

It seems to be different for everyone,

No matter where I go.

~ ~ ~

He searched his heart for an answer true,

In words the child understood,

So he summoned a prayer for wisdom from God,

And then he knew that he could.

~ ~ ~

He said my child the color of love,

Is what a person's eyes see,

No matter who you look upon,

That's what color love can be.

~ ~ ~

Love does not change from place to place,

But what is in one's heart,

May not always show the color of love,

And keep our lives apart.

~ ~ ~

For there is no difference in what God saw,

When He sent His Son from above,

For each and every person you see,

Is part of God's rainbow of love.

"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone

who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it"

John 3:16 and 17

"So now I am giving you a new commandment: love each other.

just as I have loved you you should love each other.  Your love

for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."

John 13:34-36

(Scripture from New Living Translation)
